Sustainable textiles: how are they priced?

A textile product that is considered sustainable is based on production methods that are different from those of conventional textile products. These bases have an impact on all the processes from development to production and distribution, and could therefore add to the final price, since in most cases they are not mass-marketed/industrialized. Therefore, the following factors (among others) must be taken into account:

– Environmentally friendly production processes eliminating toxic components
– Cotton cultivation that respects soil cycles
– Respect for protected species (especially forests)
– Greater durability of the materials used
– Textile finishes designed to save on water and energy consumption
– Greater transparency and appreciation of the work of the people involved
– Respect for the environment in all its forms
– Continued commitment to research and innovation in ‘clean’ processes that are less harmful to the environment
– Products certified by internationally recognized entities and rewarded for this process

Now that you know some of the factors involved in the cost structure of a sustainable product, you can infer the value that makes up its price and prove that it’s worth investing in the future of the planet together.

As a brand committed to responsible textile manufacturing, Crishome Tex already has OEKO-TEX certification valid for its final bed linen products and also for its fabric by the meter.
